Dog Escaping from your hidden dog fence?

After being in this business and troubleshooting problems I find that a week rarely goes by without receiving a variation of this message:
“One of my dogs is breaking through the fence and I just wondered what I need to do?.”
Most likely your problem is caused by one of the following conditions:

  • Loose collar (or too much hair to make constant contact)
  • Dead battery (or low or improperly inserted so it is upside down)
  • Shock turned too low on the collar
  • Dead collar
  • Determined dog
Below is a link to my website with troubleshooting help with all of these issues.  Please let me know if these things do not help.

Also, be aware that when you figure out a solution and make the adjustment that your dog will not know and will attempt at least one more escape. Therefore, you MUST put your dog on a leash and intentionally shock it so you can control the event and pull your dog back into the yard.

I didn’t know that a dog will break through a hidden fence because of a loose collar, dead collar or just a really determined dog. My dog is strong and likes playing around. It usually breaks through our fence (that your company did not install). My uncle suggested having a dog barrier fence and shared this article with me. Thank you for the information. I found it helpful.
